The Honda Rancher Family was started in 2000 with the creation on the Rancher 350. The Honda Rancher was one of the first ATV's to use the longitudinally mounted motor. The Rancher is offered 2x4 and 4x4 with a manual shift, electric shift and fully automatic transmission. The 350cc version was a very dependable platform and stayed in production until 2006. In 2004 Honda added the 400 Rancher with updated styling and additional power but only offered it in an automatic version. In 2007 Honda replaced the 350 and 400 with the 420cc version that is still in production today. Like the 350 rancher you can choose electric, manual or automatic transmission. To keep up with the competition Honda added Power-Steering as an option on the four wheel drive models in 2009. The popularity of the Honda Rancher is a testament to the durability and dependablilty Honda is known for.
